5 reasons why comments are really awesomeAs time passes here it seems people comment less. I suspect it has something to do with this community growing so unbelievably huge and everyone just feels like a tiny blip on the radar- but it makes me sad. Really very sad. Because comments are awesome and everyone should have an over-abundance of them. I know I can't change everyone's mind on the matter, but I really want to make a difference in the community as far as communication goes.
So, here is five reasons why you (yes, you) should comment MOAR!
1. It lets the artist know what they're doing right.
Who cares if a dozen people say the same thing. It shouldn't give you a reason to feel silenced. If an artist hears the same thing over and over it reaffirms that they did something well, and to keep on that track.
2. It's personal. It lets the artist know you're really looking.

Collage is one of those art forms that immediately sets off heated debate about our most fundamental ideas and visceral feelings about the very essence of art itself.
Turn of the century troublemakers Georges Braque and Pablo Picasso began enhancing their paintings with glued on bits of cut out fabric and other materials, thus neatly blurring the line between the art categories of painting and sculpture. They shifted the emphasis or “meaning” of their painted images beyond an attempted interpretation of the painted “text” to thinking about the artists’ “process” – something wholly separate from the paintings themselves.
