Midwrite CrisisI think I hit the midlife crisis of writing, because I want to go out and buy an expensive, luxury pen complete with pocket protector and pocket dictionary to strut around in and appear cooler than I actually am.  I couldn't even imagine walking around downtown in black slacks, a white button up shirt with a pocket over the right breast that bounced a tiny dictionary and a fourteen karat gold fountain pen with a dragon crawling around it.  Of course, the protector would be in the pocket incase the pen were to bleed, but why would it?  It's a fourteen karat gold fountain pen with a dragon crawling around the sides.

But then I come up with rid
Cities of MisfortuneDishes stack up cities
of roaches and misfortune
from the bottom of the sink
to the curtains on the sill.
They sway and stagger
from the cold winter breeze
that sneaks in as the door
opens and closes
to accommodate
guests and family.
Cities go unnoticed by
every passing eye, omnipotence
too great to acknowledge
the smaller things in life.
Until they tilt too far
and crash land on the
tiles melted with snow
and shatter into the lives
of the too important
and too good to clean.
White SquaresShe chirped to the rhythm of her steps
as her dress curled under
bouncing hips and above
tapping school uniform shoes.
A hop
a skip
and a jump until
she reached the other side where
her scotch of hops ended in a
series of white squares
etched on the ground.
Warm sunlight reflected
pale, white skin as she made
a one-eighty in
a whirlwind of polka dots
to repeat
a hop
a skip
and a jump
to the beginning of her
series of white squares.

:squee: Eeeeheheee thanks so much! I am totally gonna be making another copy of this, but this time with an image inlay on the cover (so that it's not just a blank black boring cover). I dunno what image to use for it though. Right now, I'm considering the Samhain cold breath one, but I'm not sure. :confused: Any suggestions?

Hmmm, that, or put a few together, merging into each other. Something that shows off tid bits of them, to draw the reader in!

:paranoid: It's not quite ready to post as a full image yet. It'll go up eventually. (I haven't posted a few things I'm working on for the senior exhibit and personal stuff :XD:)

Thanks so much! I wanna do another, cleaner and better crafted copy with an image on the front. Eventually, before April I'll do this. I have another accordion book to craft first, and I really want to master putting it together without stepping. :shakefist: The stepping bugs me a little bit, although this version is MUCH better than the FIRST pages I put together for this book (it stepped AND tented and ugh!).
